XTRACT Presented at the 19th IWA International Conference on Wetland Systems for Water Pollution Control

The XTRACT project was represented at the 19th IWA International Conference on Wetland Systems for Water Pollution Control, held in Chania, Greece, from 13–17 September 2026.
As part of the conference, the TUC team delivered an oral presentation entitled “Rehabilitation of abandoned mines through soil phytoremediation: a pilot study in Greece,” showcasing work related to the rehabilitation of abandoned mine sites.
The presentation addressed the scientific community and industry and technology partners, prompting questions about the technology’s overall efficiency, the challenges encountered during its establishment, and the selection of suitable plants.
The conference provided an opportunity to present the project’s work to an international audience.
