XTRACT 1st Consortium Meeting

The XTRACT consortium successfully concluded its 1st Consortium Meeting from June 24-25, 2024, in the historic city of Freiberg, Germany. The event kicked off with a delightful dinner, setting a tone of camaraderie and collaboration.

Over the two days, partners from across Europe, both in-person and virtually, engaged in dynamic discussions on innovative resource recovery and complex ore extraction. The dedication of task and Work Package leaders, case leaders, and partners involved in the pilots was palpable as they presented their progress and insights, showcasing six months of concerted efforts.

The meeting culminated in an optional excursion on June 26th, where partners had the opportunity to visit the Reiche Zeche mine. This visit highlighted the practical application of innovative mining techniques such as in situ bioleaching, reinforcing the consortium’s commitment to driving innovation and fostering collaboration.

As we reflect on the success of this meeting, we are invigorated by the shared vision of shaping a sustainable future for resource extraction.
